Mara & Vernon

My name is Karen and I have been involved in the sport of dog agility with my two dogs for 5 1/2 years

My English Springer Spaniel Vernon is 6 and is currently working at the advanced level.  He is a pretty easy going guy and doesn’t see the necessity to rush through anything too fast, so we just enjoy working at where he is each day.

Mara is my 5 year old Doberman who recently retired from the sport and had also been working at the advanced level.  She was eager to learn, enjoyed working on all the equipment and had steadily progressed.

This sport provides a great opportunity for me and my dogs to work together as a team and have fun.  We are always learning and constantly challenged to improve our skills through ongoing training, practice and participating in agility trials.  I really enjoy the camaraderie of club members, the mentorship to enhance our skills and the opportunity to promote this sport within our community.

Boots

This is Boots.  She is Angela's little whirl wind!!  She is a 3 year old Border Collie X Australian Shephard.  She is a VERY busy girl and needs to be kept occupied.  Agility for Boots is a great "job". that she truly enjoys.  She needs to be kept working and looks at agility as a task she must accomplish.  She has only competed in 2 trials so far but is proving to be quite the little rock star!!

Boots came from a ranch in southern Alberta and although she has the herding instinct in her, she is terrified of sheep!!  Angela was hoping to venture into the world of sheep herding but Boots decided otherwise.

This little dog is amazing with Angela's kids, she is a wonderful family pet.  She loves to curl up and cuddle with Angela, and the kids.  She has so much love and affection for her family and shows it everyday.  Angela says fate brought her into her world for a reason and she's starting to see why.  <3

Cinch

This is Cinch. He is a Border Collie X.   Angela got him from a farm in Saskatchewan when he was 5 weeks old.  He picked her and has never left her side.

Cinch is almost 11 years old now.....wow have the years flown by.  Cinch LOVES agility!!  He started when he was just a wee pup and continues to run to this day although now he has a new handler.  Payton, Angela's daughter who is 7, now runs him and has been for almost 2 years.  And what a team they make!!

But agility is not the only thing Cinch enjoys.....this dog is obsessed with water!!  And will do anything to get into any body of water he can find to go for a swim.  He is also a "fetch" enthusiast and will play for HOURS!!!

Cinch is highly intelligent and does anything he can to please you.  Angela could not ask for a better friend or pet for her family.  Cinch is deeply loved <3

Sophie

From Sophie's Mom Laura:

Sophie is a 5 year old border terrier ... aka terrorist by her agility friends.  It was very clear early on that Sophie needed a job to keep her busy so we started training for agility when she was only a few months old.  I am not sure who likes agility more ... me or her ... sometimes I think she humors me.  She is not the fastest dog in the world but she is consistent and does great with distance work.  She has a great sense of humor and often puts me in my place.  She loves to meet up with her agility friends as much as I do.

Clover

Clover is a 8 month old Border Collie pup who belongs to Lexi. We look forward to seeing this little team run in the future!

Mona

From Mona's Mom Stephanie:

I love agility because it's my "grown up" activity that gets me out of the house AND it's the time my dog gets me all to herself. I've learned to love challenging courses.  It's awesome being finished a tough course and thinking - wow, that was fun!

I've been doing agility since Mona was about a year old - so about five years.

Mona is an American Cocker Spaniel. Her favourite obstacle is the dog walk and she works best when we both run fast. She loves jumpers courses and anything that results in a treat.

Missy

Missy is a 6 year American Eskimo/collie, cross.  She is a little more timid, and sometimes shuts down when she feels the need.  She would sooner play catch with a ball most times, but, she has achieved her ADC Title, and is working on her games title.
